Youth Leadership Development

WarriorRic builds and develops young leaders in schools by inspiring them to excel in academics, sports and extra-curricular activities.

Instead of lecturing, WarriorRic teaches through storytelling, interactivity and bits of showmanship. WarriorRic’s dynamic brand of inspiration and motivation has become an effective means to get young adults and children to transform. Ask anyone who has attended his talks. When he asks, “Where my soldiers at?” you can’t help but respond, “Right Here!”

Kids love becoming Warriors!

There is no benefit being a worrier waiting for others to solve problems. The opportunity is for us to meet challenges head-on to achieve goals, and to help each other get through tough obstacles!”

WarriorRic has had the privilege of speaking at schools from primary to university throughout South Africa, including orphanages, special needs schools and recovery centres. Home schooling and the fourth industrial revolution have placed further undue pressure on parents and teachers as well as our students. WarriorRic has developed specific tools to combat procrastination, COVID fatigue, depression and lethargy.

We reprimand our kids for sitting idle on the couch, instead of playing outside. However, they witness us in front of the TV with a beer in one hand and the remote in the other. How can we expect them to resist the persistent distractions of gaming and social media, while the phone is buzzing in their pockets and we continue loafing?

– WarriorRic

Disruptive changes to class schedules, COVID infections with subsequent contact tracing and little to no sports or extracurricular activities can cause despair, anxiety and even depression.

Unless we give our youth a way out: regular play outdoors, a break from academics and some safe socialising, the future will belong to the self-contained, self-absorbed and only for the technologically inclined.

WarriorRic has played a significant role in helping young South Africans find their leadership potential.

Since 2016, he has engaged over 200 schools across seven provinces to date. WarriorRic has completed two annual provincial school tours in 2017 and 2018 aimed at establishing strong leadership values in educators and learners across South Africa.

Leaders create leaders. WarriorRic’s brand of inspiration effects change so that learners, educators and parents are better equipped to face challenges, avoid distractions and realise success for themselves and the schools and communities they represent.

He is also instrumental in addressing social injustices, such as racism, sexism, classism and gender based violence that have plagued institutions, adversely impacting learning.
